What happens if you want an acting showreel, video film or music video
from To Be Or Not To Be?
The following explains the steps you will go through when commissioning video
film from To Be Or Not To Be. The process will be broadly similar with other
production companies, though details will differ with each company.
"Action"
Shot One - Initial Contacts Initial consultations, submitting suggestions
("treatment" "acting showreel scripts etc.,) and a quote of the cost of making
the video - To Be Or Not To Be
makes no charge for this.
Shot Two - The Script Once the treatment has been agreed, we ask for a
written order commissioning the script. This is normally written by us in close consultation with the client and is based on information supplied by him/her. The completed script will normally be accompanied by a budget showing the total
cost of producing the film, based on that script.
Once written and approved, the script must be paid for even if, for any reason, the client decides not to go ahead with the film. Sometimes clients wish to write their own script but as this is specialised work, we advise that it be done in close collaboration with us and always prior to any filming. In all cases, if significant changes to the script are required by the client after the budget has been agreed and which involve extra work such as filming, extra editing and/or re-editing, such work will be charged at cost over and above the original budget.
Shot Three - Filming and Post Production On acceptance of the script and budget by the client, we will submit an invoice for 1/3 of the agreed budget and when this payment is received, filming and post production can proceed.
Shot Four - Completion When completed, the film will be submitted for approval. At this stage, any amendments required by the client will be made. Once the film has been approved, the balance of production costs become due.
As soon as this payment has been received, copies may be ordered as required. These will be an additional cost for any over and above your master copy that is included in your quote.
Shot Five - Copies can be made in any format. The norm is PAL for U.K., most of Europe and ex. British colonies, China and much of Africa. NTSC for America and Japan and SECAM for France, parts of Eastern Europe and Russia. We will need to know where the DVD is to be shown before making copies. Unless otherwise specified most work will be delivered on DVD's for the best quality.
